Happy Birthday To You

As we are excitedly waiting for the new release, and Oh Boy is it amazing, I am bringing you a birthday card that has all the rainbow feels! I really love everything about rainbows and really everything about color, so when there are rainbow mixes it is totally my thing. Here is one of those that is still in the shop, Grandma's Knit Sweater!

So I have been playing with stamping on vellum. I am using a stamp set from Taylored Expressions for my sentiment and presents. I am using Versafine Onyx Black to stamp my image and sentiment, and then I am using Gina K. Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder. I then used my heat gun and you get a super crisp and hiny embossed image. Then I am flipping my vellum over and using Copics to color in my presents. In case you are interested, here are the Copic Colors that match this blend for coloring in matching rainbow hues: R29, YR04, 38, G02, B24 and V09. I then cut out of white cardstock, using an oldie but a goodie Lawn Fawn Frame Layering Die, the frame and cardstock to go under the vellum. Next I also used a cover plate from Taylored Expressions, and used LDRS Creative Inks and Taylored Expressions Blending Brushes to create the rainbow background layer. I attached the layers using Connect Glue from Gina K. as well as Double Sided Foam adhesive to create my shaker space, along with acetate. And here you have the final project!

What do you think? All the rainbow elements make me all happy inside!

You Make My Heart Happy

Happy Saturday Everyone! Have you noticed that because of so many scrapbooking and stamping conventions being canceled there are tons of events that are taking place online? Well I have become a bit of an online retreat junkie to be completely honest. And yesterday and today I had the opportunity to attend Stamp Joy that was put on by Taylored Expressions. In today's event we made seven different cards and got to learn a lot of fun techniques. Well one of those cards just screamed out to me, saying, I need to be a shaker card!!! So this overall design came from the event. I am not sure which of their designers created the layout but full credit goes to them. But this was my first time playing with their mini slimline dies and this is such a great size and set up for a shaker! Have a look!

All the card products are from Taylored Expressions BUT, see what I did here? I paired it with Annie's Music Of The Heart Sparkle Blend. This blend is totally perfect to go with this! I will definitely be getting some more of these mini slimline as they really are perfect for shakers!

So make sure you head over to the Sparkle Blends Shop. Grab your favorites as Sparkle Blends are always Limited Editions! And as always, take a look on the Doodles Paper Playground blogFacebook page and in the Sparkle Blends Fan Club on Facebook to see all the fun things going on!

Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday!

I don't know about you but I think you can never have too many birthday cards in your stash. So check this out. I am using Judy's Royal Shine Sparkle Blend with Wish Big Sentiment Stackers from Queen and Company and Scallop Rectangle Die Set from LDRS Creative. The papers and layered Birthday as well as the stamped portion of the sentiment all came from that Queen and Company set and all the fabulous layers come from the LDRS Die Set. I have used Scor-Tape to adhere all my layers and acetate to create my infinity shaker. I then used my Sparkle Blend and did remove the crowns from the mixture for this project.

So head over to the Sparkle Blends Shop. Grab your favorites and be sure to check out the whole new release for April that is coming soon, and it is amazing!!!!!! And as always, take a look on the Doodles Paper Playground blogFacebook page and in the Sparkle Blends Fan Club on Facebook to see all the fun things going on!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I am using Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock for my card base which I cut to 5 12 by 8 1/2 inches and then scored and folded at 4 1/4 inches to create my card base. For todays' project I am really only using three sheets of paper to create my card. From the second half of the white cardstock I used a die to cut my white circle and another die to cut white tag for the sentiment. I have used striped green cardstock from Premium Assorted Dots and Stripes Discount Cardstock Pack. I cut the green stripe cardstock to 5 x 3 3/4 inches for one of my card layers. I then have used one sheet of Bonsai Canvas Textured Card Stock. From this sheet I have cut a base layer to 5 1/4 x  inches. I also used a circle die as well as a base layer and a top layer of a clover for my shaker.

I have used some scor tape to attach my layers.

I am then using foam from Lucky Day Kit from Queen and Company, which has the precut foam as well as stamps and dies which you are seeing used here. I am also using heir Foundations 1 Die Set for some of my layers. I am then filling my shaker with Shamrock Sparkle Blends Shaker Mix. My sentiment has been stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

I have an affiliate link for CutCaardstock if you would please consider using it. It doesn't cost you anything to use and does help me continue to bring you fun and fabulous projects! Here is the link:

Starting My Springtime Cards!

Hi Everyone! Today I am playing with Classic Crest Natural White 110 pound cardstock. I am using Classic Crest Natural White 110 pound cardstock for my card base which I cut to 5 12 by 8 1/2 inches and then scored and folded at 4 1/4 inches to create my card base.

Now to officially start I have taken one sheet and cut it in half. I have then taken Pop Tone Black Licorice Cardstock and cut a card layer to 4 x 5 1/4 inches and a second one 3 1/4 by 4 1/2 inches. I then cut one additional layer to 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 inches. Now I am then using a patterned paper pad for my additional layers. I am cutting these additional layers to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 inches, 3 1/8 x 4 3/8 inches and 3 3/8x 3 3/8 inches. Now on this smallest square I have also added some scor tape behind this and left the backing on so that I can create a sticker. Next I am using this intricate butterfly die to cut out the butterfly with flowers silhouette.

I am using scor tape to adhere all my layers together.

This is a perfect Spring card and can be used for so many different occasions based on whatever sentiment you decide to use, or you can leave off the sentiment and have this beautiful card for your stash and then customize it as needed at a later date.

I have an affiliate link for CutCaardstock if you would please consider using it. It doesn't cost you anything to use and does help me continue to bring you fun and fabulous projects! Here is the link:
