Happy New Year Everyone!

Just popping in to share two more fun projects using this New Years set from Newton's Nook! I love using a stamp set in different ways to get a lot of different looks from one set. Have a look at these!

I really love how these came out. And when you look at the other card that i made using this same set, you can really see the diversity you can achieve!

Wishing you all a safe and healthy New Year! Stay tuned for some new projects tomorrow to get the New Year started off right!

Happy New Year!

So I am now working on New Year cards. I may need to start working on next years cards since I feel like I have a lot more holiday ideas and things I still want to play with from this year that I got later in the cardmaking season! But for today, let's talk New Year!

I decided to work with Newton's New Year stamp set from Newton's Nook, and pair this with With A Bang Sparkle Blends as the basis for my project. I love this mix with a mostly black and white and silver color base, but also  purple and even a bit of blue with fabulous shapes and fun elements to give this such a magical mix feel. I also am using Fancy Frames Kit from Queen and Company for my framed shaker element. I have been working on cleaning up my craftroom and if you are like me you probably have 6x6 pads that are partially used and as we start making cards for the next holiday or next season these paper pads stay partially used and get buried on our desks. With that said, these papers are actually from Halloween Hoopla 6x6 Paper Pad from Queen and Company. While the front sides are very Halloween, the back sides are these amazing bright pattern papers that are totally perfect for this project. I did use A2 Card Layers #2 from the Stamp Doctor to cut my background layers. I colored up Newton and his champagne glass using my copics, and to pull it all together I used my main go to Scor Tape to adhere it all.

So head over to the Sparkle Blends Shop. Grab your favorites while they are still available! And as always, take a look on the Doodles Paper Playground blogFacebook page and in the Sparkle Blends Fan Club on Facebook to see all the fun things going on!

I do hope you enjoy this project and can't wait to see what you create!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Everyone

This fun-loving little penguin is so excited for the holidays! And he is flying high with Blue Blizzard Sparkle Blends over a snow covered village. This cutie along with his balloons and village are from a fabulous set from Clearly Besotted Stamps called Balloon Bunch Christmas. The background has been created with ink blending of Distress Oxieds in Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot, followed by a light dusting of white acrylic paint snow speckles. The village, penguin and balloons have been stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, using my Misti Stamp Positioning Tool and then colored with Copic markers. I have added my snowy dimension with an amazing Snow Marker from Marvy Uchida, and finally created my infinity shaker using clear acetate and Scor Tape.

Perfect For Different Occasions

Are you finished with holiday cards and are ready for something different? Today I am bringing you a fabulous card that you can use for lots of different occasions. Check it out.

I am using Classic Crest Natural White 110 pound cardstock for my card base. As this is a bit of a heavy design I want to make sure I am sing a heavy duty card base. I am doing this a little differently today because my base is a fancy cut base. In order to make sure that I am covering the fancy shaped base, I am laying my piece of cardstock the my die on top and using my scoreboard to create the fold. All of my dies for this project are from Crafter's Companion.

I am then folding and burnishing my fold into the cardstock and then trimming it down a bit. I am then placing my die so that the die goes off beyond the fold so that it will leave the top uncut to create the base.

Now that I have my base I am going to die cut my card pieces out of  Stardream Metallic Silver Cardstock, Stardream Metallic Punch Cardstock, and Curious Metallic Violette Cardstock

I have then adhered everything with Scor Tape, and then added a little bling on the butterfly's body.

I really love how this turned out. As you can see this would make not only a great birthday card, but can also be used as an invitation or a thank you, or even as a just thinking of you card. I do hope you like this project and as always, I can't wait to see what you create!

Happy Birthday

While I am still working on Holiday Cards, I decided to take a little break and make up a birthday card. So today I am bringing you a quick and easy birthday card, but with a degree with simple elegance. The elegance comes from these beautiful papers, which look wonderful and are fabulous to the touch. So have a look!

I am using Stardream Metallic Silver Cardstock for my card base. I have used a stand alone die set from The Stamps Of Life called Happy Birthday Framelits Drop Ins. This die cuts the card base for you.

Next I have used the die to cut my sentiment out of Stardream Metallic Punch Cardstock

I then have cut a layer for the inside of my card from Stardream Metallic Punch Cardstock as well to 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches and another layer from Stardream Metallic Gold Cardstock to 5 1/4 x 4 inches. I have then adhered everything with Scor Tape.

I really love how this turned out. I do hope you like this project and as always, I can't wait to see what you create!

Warm And Cozy Wishes

Happy Thanksgiving to all those who are celebrating! These cuties are celebrating too! With a mix of Eggnog With Nutmeg Sparkle Blends and Mulled Wine Sparkle Blends! This mix of blends is perfect for this cozy scene!

I have used Coffee Friends Stamp and Die Sets and Cozy Christmas Eve Stamp and Die Sets, along with Cozy Burrow Scene Builder Die Set, all from Hello Bluebird Stamps, to create this super cute and festive shaker card. I used both Catherine Pooler Inks as well as Copics to color this up. I have also used Scor Tape as well as some thin foam tape to create my shaker.

I really do love everything about how well these blends go together and work wonderfully for this scene and personally may need to grab some more before they are gone!

So head over to the Sparkle Blends Shop. Grab your favorites from the November release while they are still available! And as always, take a look on the Doodles Paper Playground blogFacebook page and in the Sparkle Blends Fan Club on Facebook to see all the fun things going on!

Believe

So today I am playing with Hello Frosty Sparkle Blend and I must say this may really be a favorite for me. It is winter, and it is all my favorite colors and it really goes beyond just the holidays and works all winter long. So check this out.

My card base is Classic Crest Natural White 110lb cardstock cut and scored to create an A2 size base. I am using a new shaker kit from Queen and Company called Heartfelt Holiday kit. I have used the fabulous ornament foam shapes and dies to create my shaker. I have also used a paper pad from Queen and Company called All Bundled Up, which has lots of fun elements but most importantly the colors are perfect with this blend! Additionally, I have used some basic shape dies from Stamps Of Life and from Lawn Fawn to pull this all together. I also used Scor Tape as well as Foam Tape to create some dimensionality with my layers, and as a finishing touch, some purple bakers twine also in my stash from Queen and Company.

I really do love everything about this blend and personally may need to grab some more before it is gone!

Happy Holidays

So today I am playing with the fabulous Sparkle Blend mix called Lights In The Forest. I have to be honest, this is such an amazing blend and can be used for so many different things, that it is pretty much a must! I have paired it with this fabulous Stamp Set from Hero Arts called Winter Woods HeroScape. These things together work so well for making an Infinity Shaker, which you all know I love doing. I did use a bunch of inks between stamping and blending, so for my layering I used Catherine Pooler inks in Spruce, Aquatini, Hot Tub, and Stone Blue. I also used for my ink blending Distress Oxides in Black Soot, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, and Faded Jeans. For my sentiment and my black stamping I used Memento Tuxedo Black. Additionally I used acetate for my shaker panel with one inch wide scor tape to create the infinity shaker and finally some blue glitter cardstock from DCWV and my card base is Classic Crest Natural White 110lb cardstock cut and scored to create an A2 size base.

This is really such a perfect blend for so many things, that I personally may need to grab some more before it is gone!

Santa's Favorite

Have you been working on those Holiday Cards? I have! Check out this one.

I am using Classic Crest Natural White 110 pound cardstock for my card base. I have cut my cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and then scored and folded at 4 1/4" to create the card base. Now I love using cardstock to create layers for my cards. I am using a die set from The Stamp Doctor called A2 Card Layers #2. I am using Stardream Metallic Silver Cardstock,  Habanero Cardstock, and Bonsai Green Canvas Textured Cardstock to cut my different size mats. I then adhered these with Scor Tape.

Next I am using a digital image from Joy Clair called Santa's Favorite for my images and sentiment. What I really love is this is a really easy set to work with and requires very little coloring, I have dine a bit of fussy cutting and did use my Copics for the coloring I did do. And of course, I adhered these on with Scor Tape.

I really love how this turned out. I do hope you like this project and as always, I can't wait to see what you create!

May You Never Be Too Grown Up...

Are you ready to get started on those holiday cards? For me it is definitely time. So check out todays holiday shaker card!

First I am using Classic Crest Natural White 110 pound cardstock for my card base. I have cut my cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and then scored and folded at 4 1/4" to create the card base. Next I am using Stardream Metallic Silver Cardstock to cut a 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 inch card mat. Next I am cutting Habanero Cardstock to 5 1/4  4 inches to create the next mat. Next I am cutting Bonsai Green Canvas Textured Cardstock to 5 x 3 3/4 inches to create the next mat. I have then adhered these with Scor Tape.

For these next steps I used a shaker card kit from Queen and Company called Winter Wonderland. From this kit I used the foam shapes and acetate for my shaker as well as the dies for the trees, the Santa in his sleigh and the snowglobe itself. The snowglobe frame was cut from the same Habanero Cardstock. The trees are cut from the same Bonsai Green Canvas Textured Cardstock, the Santa in the sleigh with the reindeer is cut from Pop Tone Black Licorice Cardstock, and the sentiment, which was stamped with Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black, was stamped onto the same Classic Crest Natural White 110 pound cardstock and die cut. The pattern paper also comes from the kit.and finally the shaker bits are from a Sparkle Blends sequin mix called Minter Is Coming

And of course, I adhered it all together with Scor Tape.

I really love how this turned out. I do hope you like this project and as always, I can't wait to see what you create!
